Sports Conditioning

All the time you spend working on

--------technique
--------practicing in the gym
--------honing your skills
That‘s a lot of wasted time if you‘re too tired to utilize technique.

Make your time valuable and what you know matter.
Technique, practice and skill should decide the outcome of your next fight

5 Round fitness is principle based training. We believe conditioning is the key to every skill, technique, ability and attribute a fighter possesses; without the proper conditioning a fighter will be unable to execute, apply, use or utilize what is in his or her repertoire.

Conditioning is the exercises that we do to build endurance; our ability to bear fatigue. It builds your work capacity or the amount of work your body can handle With 5 Round fitness conditioning you will build your work capacity. An athlete with a high work capacity can achieve much more than the athlete whose work capacity is lacking.

The proper conditioning gives a fighter or athlete a distinct advantage over his opponent. Techniques will be crisp and precise, executed correctly, remain accurate and will be more effective than an opponent. A well conditioned athlete is a more confident and capable athlete. An inexperienced fighter can gain a bigger advantage from conditioning than a spent fighter can gain from experience only.

A quick analogy from Ross Enamait helps put conditioning in perspective. Your skills, techniques and attributes are your tools which you keep in a tool box. Fatigue is a lock on your toolbox. Without your tools, you can‘t go to work; you can‘t win a bout, match, contest or fight. Conditioning is the key to that lock. It allows you to use what is in your repertoire.
